Lottery to Determine Draft Order for 2024 NBA Draft

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has announced that the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery presented by State Farm will take place on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 3 p.m. CT in Chicago. The lottery will determine the draft order for the 2024 NBA Draft, which is scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
This year's draft lottery features a talented pool of prospects, including Scoot Henderson, Keyonte George, and Dariq Whitehead. While there is no clear consensus on who will be the No. 1 overall pick, these three players are considered to be the top candidates.
The NBA Draft Lottery is a televised event that will be broadcast live on ESPN. The lottery will be conducted in a two-step process. In the first step, 14 ping-pong balls will be drawn from a hopper to determine the order of the first 14 picks in the draft. The remaining six teams will be assigned the 15th through 20th picks in the draft.
In the second step, the four teams that finished with the worst records in the NBA during the 2023-24 season will each have a 14% chance of winning the No. 1 overall pick. The odds of winning the No. 1 overall pick decrease for the remaining teams based on their records.
