Serbia Kick Off Euro 2024 Campaign with Defeat
Serbia's Euro 2024 campaign got off to a disappointing start on Sunday as they were defeated 1-0 by England in their opening match.
England's Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the game in the second half, leaving Serbia with an uphill battle to qualify from Group C.
Serbia had their chances in the game, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Aleksandar Mitrovic had a great opportunity to equalize in the second half, but he headed wide from close range.
The defeat leaves Serbia bottom of Group C, with England, Slovenia, and Denmark all above them. Serbia will need to improve their performance if they want to reach the knockout stages.
Serbia's next game is against Slovenia on Thursday. They will need to win that game if they want to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive.
