Ogura Takes Joint Lead in Moto2 World

Ai Ogura (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia) has moved a step closer to the Moto2 World Championship lead after claiming victory in the latest round of the series at the Sachsenring. The Japanese rider battled hard with title rival Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo) throughout the 28-lap race, ultimately claiming victory by just over half a second.

Fernandez Maintains Second in Championship Standings

Despite missing out on the win, Fernandez was able to extend his lead over third-placed Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) in the championship standings. The Spaniard now holds a 26-point advantage over the Italian, with Ogura closing to within 27 points of the lead.

Other Notable Performances

Jake Dixon (Inde GasGas Aspar Team) continued his impressive form with a third-place finish, while Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) came home in fourth. Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) also had a strong race, finishing in fifth place after starting from 18th on the grid.

Moto2 Team Standings

In the team standings, Idemitsu Honda Team Asia maintained their lead with 203 points, ahead of Red Bull KTM Ajo (184 points) and Elf Marc VDS Racing Team (165 points).

Upcoming Races

The Moto2 World Championship resumes next weekend with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Ogura will be looking to build on his lead in the standings, while Fernandez will be determined to close the gap at the top.
